The seventh day of Paris Fashion Week SS 2016 explores the meanings of the journey and the beauty of nature with a series of elegant and chic collections, but also cheerful and lively: dedicated to a woman who wants to be fashionable without sacrificing comfort.
On one hand the glamor of travel, foreign countries and ancient cultures full of history and charm. The other the beauty of nature, its bright colors and intense and its delicate strength.
The seventh and penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week SS 2016 was an exciting overview of different ways of understanding the fashion and style, with creativity and a boundless passion for the female population as a lowest common denominator.
In the “journey” between glam, suggestion and topical
“Journey” is a word and a concept with many meanings, and the parades of the seventh day of Paris Fashion Week have explored three.
Karl Lagerfeld for the spring-summer 2016 Chanel has chosen to play with its most modern meaning and glamor, transforming the halls of the Grand Palais in an airport whose destinations are the cities of the events of the Rue Cambon maison-Shanghai, Dubai , Salzburg, New York, London and Rome-and travelers sophisticated and pragmatic women. The proposal of the Kaiser for the next season, in fact, consists of chic dresses and contemporary facts of faux tweed, or a fabric with embroidery depicting the famous fantasy, to fill the role of the protagonist. Declined in a palette of colors “patriotic”-blue, white and red-the faux tweed gives form to long skirts minimal design with thick folds of panels, slim jackets with maxi reverse and complete the sporty chic mood, in a composite collection and the “cosmopolitan” vocation in which there also oversize items, coats ladified and flashy prints.
For Vanessa Seward the journey becomes a homage to the je ne sais quoi of French fashion, to retrace the Parisian street wear over the years, from the glittering Seventies to the present day. The result is a collection filled with natural elegance and seemingly effortlessly, with outerwear – especially the trench-to act as protagonists along with jacket and pants and fluid and enveloping blouses suit.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino, finally, chose to explore the concept of travel as migration, pointing the focus on ‘Africa: “This is the time to look at the integration of different cultures to create a new balance to’ inside of our conception of aesthetics and create contamination with a new”. On the catwalk they are so hopped clothes that blend distinctive stylistic features of the house (fluid lines, Fields suits, high collars) with tribal embroidery, patchwork inspired by local folklore and modern, tie-dye and leather working, for current and contemporary elegance, but in the same way without time.
Nature as beauty
In addition to the trip, the second strong theme of the seventh day of fashion shows of Paris Fashion Week was represented by nature.
For the spring-summer 2016, in fact, Iris van Herpen was inspired by plants and micro-world that lives on the leaves, creating light and “delicate clothes”, embellished with lace, geometric patterns and the like embroidery ragnatale.
Shiatzy Chen and Paul & Joe, however, took the most vivid and playful aspect of the flora and fauna to create two collections cheerful and full of color and animal-themed prints and floral, with a gentle result, lively and very chic.
